Actress Kaniha turns director with her ‘MAA’

Renowned actress and voice-over artist who dubbed for the likes of Shriya Saran and Genelia, Kaniha Shyam added yet another feather in her cap, that of a director. Her short film titled 'MAA', is scheduled to be released on Mother's Day - 10th  May, 2020, by Malyalam Actors Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi.

This is her first stint as a director and the buzz is, that those who have seen her short film, have raved about it. Kaniha posted on her instagram account, that the short film carries a social message and celebrates motherhood. She says, “It is a genuine attempt that comes straight from my heart, dedicated to all those selfless and tireless moms out there who put their kid's happiness and well being ahead of their own always.. Coming soon on May 10th  for Mother's Day. ❤”

The short film stars actress Kanika herself and many other mothers, who are balancing the role of being a mother along with personal goals and careers and who have succeeded. The films has been produced by her husband Shyam Radhakrishnan. The Cinematography is by Imran Ahmedh KR, who also shot the 2016-release Ammani, where his work was very well appreciated. Music for the film has been scored by Prasanna Sivaraman and editing by Gokul Nath
