Kollywood Appeals To Tamil Nadu CM
The Tamil Film Producers' Association recently appealed to CM Palaniswami, seeking permissions to resume post-production work for films. Due to the break out of COVID 19, filmmakers have had to pause all work for almost two months, now. In the petition, the TNFPA mentioned that over Rs. 500 Crores have been invested in various films, and delaying post production and release could further jeopardize and cause huge losses to the producers. Hence, if permission is given, that would resume work and save the industry from a total collapse.
The TNFPA also mentioned that, they are aware of the current situation and the risk in resuming shooting with artists, in the red-zoned areas. However, post production works such as Editing, CG, VFX, SFx and Dubbing can be resumed, while following all prescribed social distancing guidelines.
The FEFSI Union Workers have also mentioned that they will to undertake and guaranteed to ensure, social distancing of the people involved in post-production, while following all precautions including regular sanitizing of the workstations.
